AVIATOR: “Warm Escape” (Long Form)
It’s a rather simple story; Matthew goes ice fishing and uses the warm, comfortable interior of the Aviator as his “shanty” (in ice fishing parlance). This effectively pays off Lincoln’s new tagline “The Power of Sanctuary.”
The devils are indeed in the details here as sound design, instead of music, was an integral piece to this story—effectively becoming a 3rd character. The bigger cultural “wink” is what he whistles… the theme to “The Andy Griffith Show” is arguably the most recognized tv show theme of all time. What’s more, the actual name of that tune is “The Fishin’ Hole,” which is associated with the image of Andy Griffith and Ron Howard (Andy and Opie Taylor) walking on the dirt road with their cane poles on their way to the "fishin' hole” harkening back to a simpler time and place in American history.
Fun Fact: That’s me whistling the outro. I’m available for VO and mouth-noise gigs.
